Lost the Unmaykr!
I completed every Slayer Gate, use the Empyrean keys, and unlocked the gun! It gave me the tutorial and the achievement, but I figured I'd put off trying the gun for tomorrow. So, I saved and exited. Next chance I got, I loaded up the game, and.. the gun was still in the locked container. No, matter, right? I'll just unlock it again, trigger the cutscene--and bwip. The game crashed during the cutscene.
So, load up the game again, and my day goes down in flames. It remembered me using the empyrean keys--the chamber is empty--but I don't have the gun! Steam's cloud backup cheerfully grabbed the save file *after* the unmakyr was lost, and won't cough up anything older. Anybody have any suggestions short of an entirely new save file?

What about a mission reset? Did you try that? The fortress was buggy for me at times too, but I just reset the mission (and made sure I deleted the base directory save in the PC user directory, too!). The other thing is that this weapon switches between BFG... so if you hit Q and load the BFG, then hit H keybind and it might be there. Just another idea...

Did you check your tutorials and see if pressing the key for BFG 2 times switches to the Unmaykr?

If you really don't have it, I'm guessing you'll have to start over and earn it again. Sorry to hear about that.

8 twice?
Wasn't it mod (F) button?

Sure you lost it, maybe just out of Ammo?

If you have the Infinite Ammo Cheat try using it, then scroll through all your weapons...

I think I had Unlocked something in the FOD and quit the game and it didn't save, I got scared after that and made sure I'd go complete a level or something then come back, make sure it was still unlocked, then quit... GL man.

I assure you: in my panic I hit the BFG button a number of times best represented in *scientific notation,* hoping the gun would appear. I also tried the mod button, just in case. I had 30 units of Argent ammo.

Is the weapon not present, on your Computer room's Weapon Wall-rack, in the Doom Fortress?

Also check if It's not present in the Arsenal section of your 'Dossier' screen (TAB menu, that has map).

(eg. screenshot)

The weapon switch key for the BFG also cycles between the BFG & Unmakyr. You can have either weapon out, even if you don't currently have the Argent ammo to fire it (the Weapon-mod switch Key also switches between the two weapons).

If It's not present full stop, you may have sustained a Game Bug. It's worth reporting on, or waiting for a patch.

Further note: My Doom Fortress also sometimes revert to an earlier recent state, if I choose 'reset mission' from the ESC menu, whilst inside the Doom Fortress.

YES! Excellent, it worked! I have to re-collect one of my Empyrean keys, but I can live with that. Thank you!
I confess, I had completely forgotten about the concept of resetting a mission. Since we can replay missions later, there is usually very little reason to scrub.
Don't even bother, unmaykr is bad weapon anyway. the only viable way to play with it - mission replay with infinite ammo

Do what? It's a great weapon, and against the last bosses it was perfect for breaking down armor (Icon) and for the stagger/stun (Makr). Obviously you need to know when and how to use it at the opportune time; it's not the BFG and wasn't meant to be a kill all in site, it's specific to the high end mini-bosses and bosses. Quit advising people if you have no clue about the mechanics.

you didn't lose it, you just gotta tap the BFG switch twice

I completed doom eternal on nightmare difficulty, therefore I am fps expert. Put off your high hat, casul, you have no clue who are you talking to.
