yeah def wait...if not just for them to patch all these got damm mofo'ing bugs. I haven't even had the worst bugs that i've read about but even mine are just aggravating. Like "just now" i logged out of the game completely because my tab button simply wasn't working. This has happened before. I logged to the main menu and went back, still same sht. So i think i have to log completely out of the game then count to 100, then as the game is loading i have to control/alt/delete while chanting no whammy no whammy no whammy.....than my buttons work for awhile. It's sweet.

Honest to god, I would just say not to buy the game at all. The DOOM fanboys that lurk in these posts will act like its the greatest thing ever made and get mad even if u dislike the smallest thing about the game. they're a bunch of virgin nerds that hide behind computer screens and act like complete d bags cuz they're lonely sad individuals.
As someone who has never personally PLAYED the older Doom games (but have watched plenty), and only have a small amount of hours on the newer Doom and Doom:Eternal.. Yea its not exactly like the older games.

But Final Fantasy, Metroid, COD, and tons of other long-running franchises have all changed a ton over the years too, trying and adopting new mechanics as they went.

And frankly, these newer Doom games do still follow the old formula, just altered and changed for the new technology we have to go with it.

Honestly though, Eternal kinda feels like Metroid Prime games, with its platforming, light puzzle-solving, etc, yet with a heavy and powerful FPS like... well, Doom.

You should never tell someone to NOT buy a game just because you dont approve of the community that it is a part of. ESPECIALLY when Doom's emphasis is single-player... who cares at that point? If this was an MMO then maybe i could get behind that logic, but saying not to buy it because of a bad community and new features that add some debatably interesting challenges beyond just shooting... that's wrong.

yes, unless you really want achievements or want to simply try the multiplayer.

Why? The multiplayer mode is the only reason I had bought, but players thinning out already. You can wait and find some new players and get the achievements, and experience the MP mode, but it's already at the point where it's probably hard to find matches sometimes. Got the streak, got a 100% NM run, and did just about everything, and won UNM difficulty after.

The time of slayer stomping the lag-jews and the laggy terriyaki tryhards that team up on demon team and try to win them all w/ lag and other tactics is probably close expiring. Had some close matches and had fun. In the coming week it's probably declined more in numbers. Last week I tried a match, I waited 10 minutes, got a lvl 100 guy who refused to start game (probably cares too much), then a set of complete noobs that weren't a challenge. Either way you can play the mode but it's going to get increasingly hard to get a match going , and the mode itself is pretty small.

Many players can't hit rail shots and this game lets you do rockets, rails, and basically lots of things.. I only bought to basically have fun with re-learning/re-using my old skillset, and challenge myself in the MP mode at the start while most people were probably playing.

For 60$ you will get singleplayer and maybe steam achievements. If you're a completionist you get way more in-game achievements and can get secrets/everything on Bethesda for about 45$ right now.. if not you can just buy it at discount there and play thru it. It's a great game. an autistic demon dangles some creature he's creating infront of you as you progress through his autism puzzles, and then you must fight it. you getto go to mars. there's a robot that tells you not to blow up mars with a giant cannon. and more. difficulty and secrets will keep you busy if you want to spend extra time getting 100% and learning everything. But, moving forward at this time, I would wait for sale or other, just for reason the multiplayer numbers are probably dwindling already. I think it was highly worth it but noting the value will go down over time.

less reason for him to buy at 60$ then. taking advantage of the covid reaction I played up to 80 hours thru the first 2 weeks it came out, it was one of the best 60$ I've spent on a game in years. the timing of buying was good.

i ussually do not buy a game, especialy the 60$+ ones. I think singleplayer worth it, but unless you really like steam achievements, you will still get all game secrets/achievements, the same players, so just buy it on bethesda for 45$, wait for the steam sale, or other. for me, i haven't just sat down and played a game every day in a while, and I considered it a good buy. 60$ is always a steep price tho for a videogame when you think of all the other foods and things it can buy.

also here is a 37$ one for bethesda launcher: https://www.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.com/en/2669-buy-key-bethesda-doom-eternal/ replace hearts with instant - gaming no spaces

It's well worth $60 for the singleplayer alone

This game will most likely have a small discount this summer sale. (maybe 10-15% off?)
In my opinion this game is well worth the 60$ but it really depends on whether you will fall in love with the combat loop or not. Anyway, hope it gets a heavy discount this summer sale for your sake 💪🏾

I loved Doom 2016, but this I can't recommend for full price. $30 dollars sure, $60 dollars no.

I bought the game for 60 dollars and I've put in about 45 hours so far. I think it's worth it. I wish the multiplayer was more fleshed out, like a horde mode or something. I don't really like the current multiplayer setup.

The single player campaign is very well done and the game play and mechanics are fun and can sometimes be frustrating, but satisfying. I'm currently trying to finish it on extra life mode, so there is some replayability. I just want them to flesh out the multiplayer and put in some PVE content as not everyone is into PVP.

I'm gonna buy it again on switch!

You can wait. ITs not that long until summer starts and according to my view this is not worth 60$. Its very fun but its not that great. You could do better off playing cheaper and smaller game that is just equally fun. Or buy a more heavy MP game and enjoy it longer than you would a SP game.
I would wait. But its your money =)

This game is so bareboness and doesn't have much content. It's not even worth $40. Wait for a 75% or higher sale if you want to pay the real value of the game.

no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ about the DOOM multiplayer

this guy nailed it. hell i would go even further and say: i dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about any multiplayer unless it is local.
