different black screen bug
I am aware of the black startup screen and flickering issues, but this is something different.

When I start playing (any level) all is fine for a very short time no more than a couple minutes and as quickly as under a minute, but then everything except the UI turns completely black. So basically the whole screen is black except for the UI. The only thing that fixes it for me is using vsync. With vsync, no issues. Without vsync, black screen.

specs: 6700k stock air good temps, factory oc'ed gtx 1080 good temps, 16gb x2, 850w, game on sata ssd, w10 pro up to date, nvidia 442.74

setting: 2k ultra nightmare preset

Im may be having a similar issue and im going insane.

I play for a bit all is good then a piece of the screen will turn black and if i move the mouse it grows and takes over the screen. if i hit escape and then go back it reverts back to normal for a minute then the same issue will happen over and over and over. ive been getting lots of game crashes today and yesterday

Specs: nvidia 445.78 1080Ti

settings: doesnt matter ive tried all of them at this point

Yes sometimes that is how it has happened to me too. Part of screen first then blooms to cover entire screen. Game runs perfectly other than that and vsync does eliminate the issue for me. Normally I hate vsync for shooters especially since my display is only 60hz, but in this case it fixed the issue and did not compromise my ability to play and react as fast as I need to. Try vsync if you haven't already. Not sure if adaptive will work too since I used triple buffered.

At first I thought it was a memory issue, but since your ti has 11gb of vram, I doubt that's it.

changing to triple buffering seems to have fixed my issues. I am getting the black flickering that seems to be an issue nvidia uncovered in the game with driver 445.75. and have only had one game crash... improvement i guess.

Great news! Vsync isn't the greatest for shooters when it's only 60hz, but for this game it works quite nicely and the input lag isn't bad at all.

Certainly! Asking if it's ok wasn't necessary, but thank you for being courteous.

Damn that sucks. Wish I had a suggestion for you. I can always reproduce the issue as soon as I disable vsync, but I have been fortunate that vsync works 100% of the time in my case to resolve the blackening screen. Hope this gets patched or that a gfx driver update may fix it very soon.

Alright im a few hours in and havent had any issues so i think its fixed. I set all settings in Nvidia control panel to defaults and turned gSync back on. still using triple buffering. hope nobody else is having this issue.

Having this issue nearly 2 years later, the UI and hud is visible as normal but the home screen and actual game is black. I've played through the entire game before, never had this issue. Haven't opened the game in months but I decided to today and can't see anything. I have an RTX 3080. No issue in any other games lately.

You're gonna think I'm crazy, but...

Power system down, switch off power supply/unplug. Hold system power button down a second or 2 to discharge any remaining current. Unseat and re-seat the graphics card. Clean card and slot with compressed air before if desired. Power back on.

Reinstall the graphics card drivers and possibly roll back. Use DDU to uninstall driver.

Verify integrity of game files and probably better to just uninstall and re-download to a different location. Can move later. Use v-sync and/or limit the frame rate.
