Bugged encounter on Hebeth (nightmare difficulty)

Right before finishing the mission where you get the BFG there is an encounter with a rather lot of demons. However, unlike the cultist base bug (apparently the traps render the encounter unfinishable) there are no traps or similar mechanisms. I finished the encounter and double-checked the arena for stray demons, but nothing. Again I had to finish a mission without being able to get every encounter.

While the cultist base was fixed by simply not using the traps, has anyone ran into this encounter and have it bug as well?

Happened to me. I was only able to fix it by finishing the mission and replaying it.

Out of curiosity, can this be done with the cheat codes you find in maps? If I can blaze through it with infinite ammo and get it out of the way before I continue the campaign that would be best.
