[spoilers] Opinions on the Final Sin RNG?
[SPOILERS]
Finished my first playthrough. The Final battle with the Icon of Sin has a random number generator component. He will spawn monsters of a random assortment. I found this to make each retry after death an inconsistent difficulty. Particularly during the second half of the Icon of Sin fight he kept spawning Baron of Hell and Dread Knight. Next playthrough after death I was mostly fighting Cacodemon which felt a lot easier.

I can see how this adds variety and unpredictability to the game but I generally don't like RNG because of the inconsistency in the playthroughs. Seems like it's a lazy way for game developers to make a level.

as far as I know, its the same as the original Icon of Sin fight in Doom 2. Random enemies. I just wish that in Eternal the enemies spawned were fully random, not just picked from a couple sets.

I guess they tried to make the sets roughly the same difficulty... but the second set I encountered was a lot easier than the first.

None of the demons that spawn during the final boss matter at all because you can just spam the Crucible on everything (which heals you like a glory kill each slice) and the charges respawn.

It's not too problematic with the infinitely respawning Crucible charges, but it can cause some issues when certain monsters are much more capable of dealing damage to you. Getting Cyber Mancubi is a pain.
