Setting Texture Pool Size higher than "High" causes desktop crash
I have a RTX 2070 Super. For some reason if I set my texture pool size to anything higher than "high" it will crash to desktop, no error message, nothing. It happens right as I try to load into a mission after pressing space to continue.

I can change the setting mid mission, but it will randomly crash. Could be instant, half an hour, two hours at most. But setting it to high it never crashes. I think it might be because I only have 8gb of ram (hyperx fury 8gb(2x4gb) 2666mhz with a Ryzen 5 1600x overclocked to 4.1ghz.)

I ordered 16GB(2x8GB) of DDR4 3200MHz HyperX Fury so I'm hoping that will help, cause I am noticing I'm using practically all of my ram when running this game with 8GB. I'm running every setting on ultra nightmare, besides texture pool size. Resolution is 1920x1080p 75hz

I have an 8GB card and only 8GB of system memory so the same thing happens to me.

Rustybeans, you should have more RAM than VRAM. I think these engines often mirror VRAM in RAM

What is with the constant stream of people who have video cards way too expensive compared to the rest of their system

You need to have more RAM than VRAM bro.

Yes, I do this an page on a HDD and you can put it to Ultra Nightmare, but a HDD is still slower than ram.
The best way is to update the driver and replace the 144hz and 240hz monitors. If you are rich then change the graphics card to RTX280TI
