The one in Doom Eternal is way too bulky and chunky to look like a weapon made for a normal-sized human. If anything, it looks like something designed for a vehicle turret mount, or for a member of the Emperor's own Adeptus Astartes.
1. Ammo for it is very plentiful, enough that you can (and should) make it your main weapon. You couldn't do this in most stages in Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 64, or Doom 3 (until the very end of this game, perhaps).
2. It seems to inflict much more damage per shot than Doom 2016's plasma rifle. The heat blast mod in this game is devastatingly effective compared to that in Doom 2016 which sometimes wouldn't even kill imps.
3. In damage per plasma bolt, it seems on par with its counterpart in the original Doom games, although this is hard to determine in the absence of numerical values for weapon damage and enemy health.
mastery modded heat blast damage bonus makes the gun absolutely ridic, try it
Nah, 2016 looked like an early prototype model, it wasnt that effective either. It looked kinda strange, too. In Eternal it looks effective, badass and overall fits human space forces better
coz Stun bomb is broken.
Challenge arguably is not the reason why most players buy DOOM.
If you do have the OG sound pack, I'm curious to hear about how sounds are handled for weapons that didn't exist in Doom II, i.e. the Heavy Cannon and Ballista. I'm guessing those just keep their current sound effects?
I don't have much interest in Battlemode, so having that skin for the Revenant is useless. Moreover, I don't think the Revenant is even a particularly good demon to pick in Battlemode either, based on what I've heard.
