for the love of all that is god pls nerf marauders
I beat the game on nightmare and have been replaying through levels to get through all the collectibles but dear lord marauders are easily the worst part of the game, I have to lower my difficulty at this point because I'm sick of spending so much time dealing with a singular marauder. I honestly think they need their hp cut by half after the first one. I don't see how it can be fun dealing with an enemy like them since they take so long and absolutely kill the flow of any fight with them
Also, the clearly sped up animations look like ♥♥♥♥

It's a miniboss. Treat it as such. He's supposed to break your routine. Once you master him he'll be just as much part of the flow as anyone else.

Well the problem is you eventually fight them and only have something like 30s to kill them as part of a challenge thing. Unless you are privvy to the cheese tactics that break the mechanics, it is fair to want them nerfed.

i disagree. even when i have a perfect fight against them where htey keep spamming the counter attack i still take a while and it's clearly more obnoxious than any other enemy by far. I hate both the recurring bosses but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ marauders don't belong in a fast paced game like this. they belong in a game like dark souls where you are intended to wait your turn to attack

yep. i've seen him do projectiles at point blank and shotgun at far range. wtf even is mid range anyway?

That 30s thing is a secret encounter which is a puzzle. It's like if you had a achievement that said kill a marauder under 30s.The solution to the puzzle is to double bfg him, one to distract and then the other in his back.

I literally spamming all my rifle ammos into his face and he still alive, don't know how they expect me to kills that tumour within 30s

I'm of two minds as to whether they need nerfed. When I first met him it went poorly. Staying mid range is a losing plan. Stay back, let him approach you, dodge the axe and then SSG the green eyes, follow up with a balista. I set mouse forward to SSG mouse wheel back balista.
However, just because I can beat him, doesnt make him fun. I think time will tell.

Great. But different scenario, different way to deal with him. You have room to dash back and forth, the challenge lock you in a small dungeon

remote detonate rocket -> ballista -> super shotgun -> repeat
lob a couple nades at his feet while you're at it for bonus points.
you can kill the marauder in 20 seconds this way.

He is easy. You just need to adapt. I had similar challenges but with time you will figure him out and he becomes completely manageable.

exactly. He objectively doesn't fit into the doom formula. at all. 1v1s dark souls style shoudln't be in a doom game. it slows the pacing toa crawl and cheesing is most effective. that's called bad design

he doens't belong in doom and his loop is stll NOT FUN. thats the problem. It's not that they are necessarily hard. it's that they are super inconsistent and BORING
