Game running on wrong display
I run a dual monitor setup (one portrait one landscape) with NVIDIA GPUs and the game refuses to run on my main display. If I select monitor 1 in video settings, it blacks out my main display and runs the game on the secondary portrait monitor. I've spent the past 2 hours fiddling with the NVIDIA control panel to try and make a difference but the game flat out refuses to run on anything other than my vertical monitor unless I run it in windowed mode, which is not viable for performance reasons.

This is an unacceptable launch bug. I'm not going to refund it because I genuinely want to play this game but given my situation the game is in a virtually unplayable state.

Browsing the discussions here as well nobody seems to have found any kind of fix nor has there been any word from developers about a fix. Any new information/fixes/workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Unplug the second monitor

I use the second monitor for streaming, chat, and discord monitoring. This isn't a reasonable solution.

I have three monitors on an AMD RX 580 & it runs on the monitor I want. In my Windows display settings it's monitor #3, and it's my main display. Check and see if the monitor you want to run it on is the main display in the display settings. Maybe try setting both to landscape and see if that works, or try swapping ports on the card to switch the monitors & see if that works. My main monitor is DVI while the other two are Displayport.

All my monitors are landscape though. I'd say the temp solution is to remove the monitor you want, don't worry about streaming, discord, etc. Do those in the background of the main monitor.

So, I've done so more poking around in windows display settings. Setting my main landscape display to be my "secondary" display while having my vertical display to "primary" allows the game to run in fullscreen on my main landscape display. I also made sure to relaunch the game between any kind of system configuration change.

Why this is even an issue is beyond me, seems like whatever script they put together to detect which display is which is bugging out on NVIDIA hardware.

Edit: Can't mark my own reply as a solution, could somebody quote this for me?

Oh trust me I tried that first, I'm used to games occasionally starting on the wrong monitor and just moving them over to my main one but this game flat out refused to run on anything but my secondary display in fullscreen/borderless.

This seems to be some kind of deeper problem with the way the game is detecting display hardware info, hence having to change windows display settings to fix it.
