No, it did not break my game. It CAN glitch your weapons (most speedrunners do it for insane dmg) but it won't break your weapon / mods on normal use.

I used it to play one level and it broke my mods

THIS!! I played with IDKFA yesterday and mastered the combat shotgun, it did not give me the mastery or the skin, so it's locked now and I can not get it.
