How do I stagger pinkies?

I'm playing super gore nest on Hurt me Plenty, which has an achievement that requires you to get three different glory kills on the pinkies. but the problem is, no matter what weapon I use, it just straight up kills them without staggering them first. I've tried everything. all the guns an their mods, shooting them from the front, back, sides, but nothing works. how do I fix this?

What I did, was shoot the pinky by the tail with the heavy cannon until they staggered. It’s the best I can say

Usually, I'd just circle around behind them and hit them with the regular shotgun. Don't use the grenades; just the primary fire. About three to four shots should stagger them for glory kills. In fact, don't use weapon mods at all since those will usually up your damage high enough to kill the pinkies instead of staggering them.

Those glory kill challenges are a pain in the arse. A tip I can give you is that when future challenges mention a "left side glory kill" on a particular demon, it means the monster's left side, not yours. So if you need to perform a left-side glory kill on a Doom Hunter, you'll want to approach a staggered one from his chainsaw hand, not the one with the gun.

The way I did it, was spraying them carefully down with the heavy cannon, remove body armor with sniper shots. It's tedious, boring and annoying but it works most of the time. Just clear everything out first to have an easier time.

You can shoot off the Pinkies' armour?? I never noticed that. It seems that I'm learning something new about Doom Eternal each day.

Try to freeze him with the ice bomb, shoot his back a few times with the normal shotgun. Thats how i do it.

If you have the ammo to spare, they do take damage from the front. It's just drastically reduced and will take a while, but you're much more likely to get a stagger out of it if. Using explosives on the ground next to them works pretty well too.

Don't frozen monsters take more damage from weapons? Or is that only with the Praetor Suit upgrade?

It is a Praetor Suit perk called Frost Bite. By default, frozen Demons take the same damage as unfrozen ones, only with a slight difference that they don't move hence you have a fat chance of hitting them right, causing more damage than hitting a moving demon by a near-missed-but-hit-anyway shot.

Tip for the pinky challenge: when you reload from checkpoint, your challenge progress is saved, so just finish the second encounter to get the checkpoint, break through the wall, and land on the pillar to release a pinky, then get a new glory kill and reload from checkpoint.

You can one-shot them with just a blood punch, even from the front.
