Due to the tentacles and the orb-thing on its chest (is it there? I don't remember well), as well as the shape of its head, it's safe to assume that this is the corpse of a previous Khan Maykr.

Why is it there? No clue. Maybe the Khan Maykr wanted to analyse the anatomy of another Khan Maykr in details.

The Essence of The Father was stolen by a renegade Maykr, named Samur Maykr. So yes, perhaps it's the lifeless corpse of The Father, but we don't truly know.

The father was a computerized spirit of sorts, he had no form. My vote is he is VEGA.

He obviously is VEGA. Especially since Samur is most likely Hayden.

Maybe it will be explained in one of the DLCs.

Doubt it. The DLCs will focus on the period between the end of DOOM 2016 and the beginning of Eternal.

They're informations that were given at some point on some sites. However many have removed said informations (save for a few) so my guess is it was the plan a long time ago and was an unreavealed information the medias already had and they changed it. No matter what I personally think the DLCs won't expand much beyond what is already in Eternal. As I said elsewhere I think they want to apex the franchise in a trilogy ! I kinda hope after that they create their own franchise using their state-of-the-art combat system or give another id license the same go. Quake, particularly the universe of Quake 1 would be the best !

Given how things are going now (Heaven being devastated and everything pointing towards the Dark Lord being the next main antagonist), it does seem like DOOM 3 will be the last game of this trilogy. Pretty much nobody will be powerful enough to stand in the way of the Slayer, so yeah.

Quake would be the perfect way to go after DOOM is done, since it's the only id's main IP that hasn't been rebooted yet.
