I tested the maximum fps to see what the difference between the latest and recommended drivers are. There's definitely an impact on the recommended (it's lower), but I cap my fps anyways.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this actually worked! I don't notice a difference between either driver version, so you basically fixed the entire game for me. Kudos!
You're welcome! Although do bear in mind, the issue can crop up on occasion. But it's a lot better thankfully.
Also, for those who are capturing using OBS Studio, V-Sync Off doesn't work correctly with that driver version. I was playing it last night while recording, and everything was going smoothly. Then I picked up a toy and the driver crashed. Whoops. It should be okay if you aren't recording though.
I found that turning off my depth of field makes it pretty much stable 100%, though that didn't working initially when I was using the current Adrenaline driver
The 5600XT default clock settings and performance were modified at the last minute on launch day, meaning a lot of cards out there never received the updates. There are a lot out there that will have performance oddities and some with BIOS versions that contain different volt/frequency curves than what drivers may be expecting.
If you have an updated version, it may be pushing the card too hard - they didn't validate the new clock speeds on a wide variety of cards. If you have a non-updated version it may not be supplying enough voltage or selecting the correct pstate if the drivers aren't interacting with it correctly. Both situations could cause artifacts in some situations.
No offense taken :D
Hopefully a driver update fixes it for you!
I think this might be an card specific issue with doom eternal only, as no other game has this problem.
There is probably a bug with how the driver handles the VULKAN renderer with shadows specifically.
So far no other problem with Doom Eternal, I suggest trying the console commands and see if any of them can hotfix it, while we wait for a driver fix.
Same here. Played it before with R9 280x, had no problems at all.
I want to know if this is also a problem with this card.
Still having the black square issue, haven't found a fix yet.
