[SOLVED]"Unable to Initialize Steam API" error during launch
so, first, I get a GPU driver error that says I need to update my GPU... I did that.

next, I get this error, telling me to "Please make sure Steam is Running and you are logged in to and account entitled to the game"
it obviously is, and what other entitlement is there beside straight up BUYING IT!?

third, I look up this error on the usual places, got three tips:

-run Steam as an administrator (nothing changed)
-allow the application through your firewall (I checked Windows Security, and the game already was, it AND Steam)
-Opt out of all Beta programs (I wasn't part of any to begin with)

I'm currently at a loss for ideas... and everything related to this Steam API thing is consistently linked to OTHER games, such as Borderlands 3.

it'd be one thing if this error was universally solved through those tips, but clearly it's not, and I don't know what's causing it... does ANYONE here have some idea what ELSE might be causing this error?

so I restarted my computer once again, just when I was about to give up, I tried launching it one more time, and Comodo Antivirus, which I had completely forgotten about, had alerted me about the idtechlauncher...

considering that the icon for it didn't appear at all on the bar showing all active programs, I wasn't aware it was still running until now...

I confirm. Comodo....WTF!!!

now that I think about it, I remembered there being a green border on the windows that gave me this error... and if memory serves, when Comodo runs something through it's isolated security sandbox, it presents the windows with a green border.

considering how seldom it ever happened to me, it's no wonder it didn't occur to me...

Я решил проблему просто - разлогинился из стима и заново зашёл, проблема исчезла
