Slayer Keys Missing from Level's

Among all the Negative reviews I might add a positive note, I adore this game to bits and it truly satisfies my collecting OCD going around each level trying to 100% everything. Bit annoyed as when completing the city mission when you search for Samuel Hayden the Slayer Key wasn't there. The room at the very top had a neon tinge of Purple yet it wasn't there. I don't know if this is a bug not yet discovered but the Slayer Keys before that mission were there. I am just running through the Mars mission now and the Purple Slayer Key isn't where its supposed to be which is in the grates but yet the Purple tinge of the grates is present.

Now you might say just repeat the mission once completed which I don't mind but nevertheless just running through a mission for it is annoying nevertheless alongside it may not even be there.

Could I have some advice?

I have the same problem (it started with Arc Complex mission), looked at a walktrough and in my game Slayer Key don't appear in the map nor it's where it suppose to be acording to the walktrough I saw. Anyone found a fix? I'm not using cheatcodes.

turn your cheats off.

if their off, im assuming youve activated cheats at some point.
cheats are currently doing weird things with games after they are disabled and breaking games.

Cheats can only be activated via Mission Select but I haven't repeated any missions with cheats. So it isn't anything to do with cheats.

If you ever turned a cheat on, and didn't even use it, the game considers the cheat to be 'ON' even if it's not active. The slayer keys despawn if any cheat is on, even if it's your first run through a map. You have to specifically check the cheat menu to make sure they are all off.

I have seen the cheat menu but I have never once clicked to activate a cheat, Not a single cheat has been activated and they still remain un-activated. As I have just checked.

So essentially if you've used a cheat even once and turn it off, the slayer keys will not spawn That is what I'm guessing? Because that is what I'm dealing with right now.

I used a cheat on the mission select menu when replaying a level, turned it back off afterwards. Slayer keys now do not appear in the further course of my run.

Ngl, that is pretty frustrating.

That appears to be the case for a lot of players. If a cheat was ever active, the game bugs and considers every level to be using a cheat.

the cheats stay on because youre suppose to disable them.........i mean come on dudes, i turned off cheats and did the cultist base again to get the slayer gate and it worked fine for me

I had the same key missing. Which is really frustrating considering how much of a pain in the as the Marauder fight was.

I had turned all the cheats on before this, on a mission were I missed one collectible. Considering cheats seem to only be able to be turned on in the mission select, I don't go back and turn them off. I know none of the cheats were active during the ARC Complex considering I was not seeing infinite lives and my screen wasn't green from the Sentinel Armor.

I went to the mission select screen, toggled the select all cheat a few times, made sure the cheats were off, and started the mission. The key was there and I completed the Slayer Challenge. I exited the mission and it said that all I have achieved would be saved.

I am pretty sure I had the extra suit points but, when I looked at the mission select, it still showed that the demonic corruption for the Slayer Challenge was still not complete. So I started the mission again only for the corruption track to show all corruption was clear. The mission select still shows the Slayer Challenge as not complete.

So confusing.

-Load a previous mission to SAVE the cheats being off
-Quit out of mission
-Load into current story mission
-Reset again just to be safe
-key still doesn't spawn

-Repeat

notice the problem? I'm not having fun, in a fun game.
the cheats don't even work while you on a current story mission! they shouldn't be locking me out of the slayer gates *because they're on* when I don't get the benefit of the cheats that are supposedly on?!

So turning on cheats and then continuing on with the campaign (where cheats then obv don't work) disables slayer keys from spawning, okay fine. Learned that now the hard way. Bug or not, that was annoying.

So I replayed the mission with cheats off, got the slayer key and then picked up the Empyrean key. After quitting back to the main menu straight after, the Emp. key didn't show up in the mission select exploration progress in the main menu. I had 10/10 demonic corruption cleared, but no Emp. key.

So I replayed the mission once again (very fun at that point...), did the slayer gate, picked up Emp. key and played mission to the end. It finally saved.

I guess picking up the Empyrean key in a mission might require a play to the end so it saves? Or it was a bug?

Either way, from here on out I would definitely clear the slayer gate on the first run through a level.

Fun game but that is just frustrating.

Yes, it seems like you always have to finish the entire mission to save pickup progress. It's not like the kill challenges. I believe the previous game was different.

Well in the end I adore it and will be playing through the Campaign on each difficulty so it doesnt bother me unless it happens again, Of course the Average player will only play it once so its a problem for others. Hopefully the developers could shed some light on the situation and worse case scenario we will have to wait for a patchfix.

Just hope It doesnt affect me 100% completing the campaign on all other difficulties.

But just to check I did activate and de-activate cheats a couple times and restart missions and leave the game. It still hasnt resolved the problem but oh well.

I'm having this issue too, same place as you and now at the mars level. I'm RIGHT NOW looking at where the key is SUPPOSED to be and its just... not. This is actually the 3rd level this has happened. And NOW, my grenade launcher mod is broke and instead of firing a grenade, it clusters all the buckshot to a single spot and does phuckall. is fact, it does little to zero damage to even normal zombies. I read it was the idkfa cheat on mission replays, but I haven't been through this level at all yet so I don't get what the hell is going on.

I understand what you're saying in this post. Though, after talking to many folks about the same problem about 90% of the players aren't turning off the cheats before they replay a mission. Even if you just toggled a cheat on while looking in the menu:

You have to choose a mission from the replay screen. Turn cheats off EVERY TIME BEFORE YOU SELECT A NEW MISSION.

Mine default back on when I restart the game, unless I finish an entire replay with the cheats off. This fixed my problem.
