The one I've liked least is the the one with the cocademon, pain elemental, and doom hunter. Mostly because I would be a half second away from killing all of them in time.
I mostly just don't like timed events, so I agree the secret encounters aren't great, but they're not game breaking for me.
The Marauder one was just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and on the other one in there I had to go back through the mission select since the Doom Hunter kept jumping into the pool and making it literally unbeatable.
Guys, the point I'm making is that they just aren't fun. They're basically just esoteric checks to see if you have enough ammo.
You say they're confusing. But they really just spawn a bunch of enemies which you have to kill fast. Nothing else.
You say they focus on the worst mechanics. What mechanics are that exactly? Only one that does that is the marauder one. All the others literally just spawn a couple of enemies you have to kill quick.
Yes the ammo thing is annoying. But that will really only be a problem for you if managing your ammo is difficult for you or if the encounters are too difficult for you so you have to restart multiple times.
I found them fun
