I just got used to "Hmm, if I die a couple times I bet it's because I need to use skill and timing and-NAH it's BUTTON MASH TIME" being the go to solution.
Honestly that is the consistent tone for all the "Hardest" jumps in the game. Every single one of them tripping you up are ones not about skill or timing, they are the ones where you gotta button mash more.
I didn't grab any of the handholds, and instead just hit the very first jump gate and turned hard right until i could shoot the mark and go through the door. One jump. LOL.
This, it is waaaaay easier.
