Wish the meat hook acted like TFL2's grapple hook
Or you have to pepper the enemies a bit first. The problem with the super shotty is that you can't just go in and use it and expect a kill especially if you haven't damaged the heavy enemy. For example, you'll wanta shoot off the hand cannons first of of a mancubus before you use the shotty. Two shots with that and hes in stun.
And if you mastered the shotty, meat hooks will set enemies on fire which means armor. So if you are timing it right, you should be gaining armor not losing health.
Double Trouble + 1 Gauss shot killed basically everything in Doom 2016, that game was stupid easy.
However it seems mandatory for the Marauder fight. It stuns the Marauder and allows you to get about three shots in before he recovers. I didn't try all the weapons but of the ones I have tried it was the only one to stun him. The rockets travel too slowly to be effective.
