Then play on Easy and switch to normal when youre ready. You need to think about it and understand why you died and try not to repeat the mistake you make. Dont stop moving, use your weapons tactically and adapt to every situation as quick as you possibly can.
No, Dark Souls is a really hard game that forces you to adapt and learn. This game can take you by the hand with plenty tutorials, (barely) enough time to learn to use the new weapon/other thingy you just found, and the option to play it on easy mode.
Lots of people including myself have to hard disagree with the sentiment the game isn't balanced. The only things that didn't get proper QA testing from my understanding was the Master levels, which are only for those who want that extra challenge anyway. You need to present your argument for why you feel it's unbalanced and give examples, otherwise you're just asking for a glutton of negativity from the community.
Nice necro, btw...
Until Id software gets it right, I'm done. The whole sentinel/ Samur Makyr reads like a bad fanfic and worse, they're pursuing this with the new sequel. just once I want a remake of the first and second games that are fair. No boss fights, no fanfic crap. Is that too much to ask for?
As far as you thinking half the community is prone to insults, again have to hard disagree. You're only taking note of the few bad apples who have nothing else to do and can't get over some emotion in some video game. So they come and rain on everyone's parade. Block and move on from them. They are not even 1% of the actual community that enjoys both new Doom games.
I personally have to disagree again with the points in the story too. It could have a little more continuity between the two games from what I've read has changed, but overall it's got a lot of similarities to the Warhammer 40k universe. Some designs even look 40k ish. Not all, but some. I love the lore and story building of Eternal, and the environments felt designed in such a way that as long as you take note of your surroundings you'll have an advantage so long as you make use of the layout.
Again as others have said, if the difficulty was too much, don't hesitate to lower it. People that complain about lack of balance are 99% of the time the same people who aren't playing to their full potential with what is given. And that's OKAY! There is a much higher skill ceiling in Eternal than any of the other Doom games and still higher than many other fps games to date. Don't let it discourage you, I promise if you continue to put time into it you'll start to figure out more niches and eventually settle into a comfortable position where what was once challenging/frustrating, becomes trivial. You don't get that from grinding god tier gear, and maxing out stats, ect ect. For Doom it is, and always has been, about player skill and knowledge of mechanics given, as well as enemy prioritization. Bettering your skill as a person instead of grinding for gear that makes encounters effortless.
Edit: there are boss fights in the older Doom games. Doom 2's final boss is great in theory, but the execution was way off. IMO one of the worst 'Boss' encounters ever, but clever none the less. I remember finally figuring out how to beat it all those years ago, before everyone had access to internet and guides were prevalent on every gaming website. I was stuck in a state of both bliss and confusion. I couldn't believe that was it! Overall pretty disappointing.
