Weird.
Update: For whatever reason, the game automatically switches from Stereo Driver to Handsfree Driver right after the Bethesda splash screen ends. This causes the audio quality to decrease significantly, and so far I haven't found a way to stop this change.
I also don't want to disable it, however, I tried it and it did not seem to help. The game still lost sound at the menu. Maybe there are two places to disable?
Start > Sound Settings > Manage Sound Devices > Disable Hands-Free AG Audio as *BOTH* an Input and an Output
Hope this helps folks
"Did you disable entirely your microphone audio input (hands-free in Windows settings)? This happened to me on Halo MCC, check to see if that works for you"
