If you're having the same issue as others, Doom Eternal is using Steam user data to automatically create accounts without user's consent. To further complicate the issue, sometimes those accounts are using out of date or completely incorrect email addresses. It's these unauthorized accounts that ARE linked to Steam.
And even if you are lucky enough to find a way to log into the unauthorized Bethesda.net account, there is currently no way to unlink it.
I'm missing out on Slayer's Club rewards that I accumulated for over a year on my real Bethesda.net account.
I've been getting the run-around from their customer service agents since the game launched. I cannot get them to unlink the unauthorized Bethesda.net account Doom Eternal created used outdated data from my Steam account (in my case, an email address I haven't used in a decade).
While I haven't had them take action yet, the agents have messaged me asking for the following:
1) The email of the Bethesda.net account I want unlinked from Steam.
2) The ID of the Bethesda.net account I want unlinked from Steam.
3) The ID of the Steam account.
4) An general explanation of what I want them to do.
5) A confirmation that I am aware of the data that will be lost and cannot be restored (if I lose my pre-order bonuses, I'll fight that battle at a later time).
And here is a link to their ticket system (you will need a Bethesda.net account, which you already have if you created a Slayer's Club account like I did): https://help.bethesda.net/app/incident
I hope that can save others some time.
