There already is feedback from your attacks, like HUGE GUTS
If I take damage from any enemy, I don't need to know how much damage it was. I just need to know I'm hurt and must seek health. As long as you know how to use all the weapons, you really don't need a HUD at all in this game.
Regardless, it's baffling that the ONLY part of the HUD they don't let you remove, is the only one I would remove INSTANTLY. I don't even dislike Call of Duty anymore, and I still hate hit markers.
And, with DOOM Eternal's gore and enemies, they're insultingly pointless. I honestly can't believe it...
Started a fresh playthrough with minimal HUD (I like my ammo/armor/health indicators) and the first thing I notice is hitmarkers. Why??
Doom 2016 looked so beautiful with minimal HUD

Why would there be so many options for disabling HUD elements yet none for hitmarkers?
Do they happen when you disable a weakpoint or when you shoot a demon?
You can see them if you look at the center when firing
