is there any way to do it autmatically? or do i have to manually turn it off to play and turn it on to do anything else?

when i try to re-enable my integrated gpu my screen turns black and i have to restart my laptop

i need to do this every time i open my laptop, DISABLE amd integrated graphics, open the game, close it and then re enable, and when i restart my laptop need to repeat this again. any solution to this issue? also i play doom most often, does disabling and enabling amd drivers harm my laptop or the driver itself?

if you got an nvidia card - you can simply go into nvidia control panel - 3d settings - and you can chose doom eternal - high performance nvidia processor.

you can do that but laptops tend to ignore the nvidia control panel settings. that's why disabling through device manager is usually a better option.

Yes exactly, tried much from NVidia control panel and also from graphics settings under display section for "DOOMEternalx64vk" and "idTechLauncher" both in windows 10 settings. But my ASUS laptop seems to ignore it every time. Tried every other way but only the long method works, this process of disabling and enabling drivers takes atleast 5 mins before I start playing doom, also after disabling AMD driver, the doom game runs at 5-10 fps, need to force close it from task manager, then open after enabling the AMD driver, and all these needs to be done again I restart my laptop. Its irritating and cumbersome, but for now it seems to be the only way.

I once tried plugging off my laptop and running on battery so that it uses only single GPU (ofcourse AMD) and it opened without the error, the game ran on 30 fps and then I plugged in my charger and the game ran smoothly at 90 fps. (probably the NVidia graphics also came into work). I think ASUS built in laptop motherboard algorithm uses both of the graphics drivers simultaneously. This method was working for 2-3 times, but then again the problem came even with my laptop running on battery.

So, apparently this errors come in laptop having dual graphic drivers. And the only solution for now seems to DISABLE and ENABLE either of the G.drivers.

(best for people who have LAPTOPS and have AMD processor and AMD Radeon integrated graphics with NVIDIA dedicated graphics card)

"The game is not auto detecting the graphics cards to play with, and hence shows the error"

--For me my ASUS TUF GAMING laptop came with AMD Radeon software "LITE" but not the proper AMD Radeon adrenalin software--

1. PERFECT SOLUTION is to head to AMD site and
Download and Install AMD Radeon adrenalin software (Auto-Detect and Install Updates for Radeon™ Graphics and Ryzen™ Chipset Drivers for Windows®)
https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/rsx-install , use that software for installing latest Radeon "auto-detect" software and restart your pc, you may not check on factory reset option while installing (it will auto detect proper drivers as per your pc)
THEN OPEN THE GAME ON RESTART AND IT WILL START WITHOUT ANY ERRORs.

--This worked like a charm and as a permanent solution for me and without errors it detected my NVIDIA graphics and started as it should--

2. THE PROCESS of disabling and enabling drivers is already stated by this thread author in the question header only. (for me i needed to do this everytime I open DOOM eternal)

Ok I had the same problem and used to disable the card from the device manager, what I found is cleaning with this tool https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601 from safe mode and install the driver again turned to fix the error and start the game with the correct card. I started reading this post https://help.bethesda.net/app/answers/detail/a_id/49839/ and specific for the amdvlk64.dll that is a possibility for the error to show, if that helped you please share it with other people.

Guys no need to open and close the game while doing it I only disabled and then re-enabled my iGPU and now it works fine.
