THEY MADE GLORY KILLS MANDATORY WTF!

I love this game as a whole but holy crap how the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in this regard. It's literally not possible to beat this game without glory kills because they made ammo and health so tight that you NEED them in order to get more health and ammo. I find myself using the chainsaw more as a way to obtain ammo than to kill demons. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and Doom 2016 never forced you to play this way even if glory kills were rewarded. It's like the devs were so proud of their glory kill animations they basically just decided to force it down our throats instead of just making it an option like in 2016. I'm more afraid of running out of ammo because I don't glory kill than the actual demons.

You also die extremely fast even on HMP, which makes glory kills even more mandatory. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...

Still like the game for the most part though.

glory kills don't drop ammo, only chainsaw kills do. chainsaw now regen 1 fuel automatically, so killing demons from time to time with chainsaw and you won't have issues with ammo. health... well, yes, demons hitting hard, but you always can reduce difficulty. higher difficuly require you to use all available recourses, it was same in 2016 game.

Why wouldn't you want to glory kill? It's awesome and if you didn't do it in the first game you're just gimping yourself. I doubt most players will notice that it's manditory because most players enjoy and glory kill often

Glory killing was required in the first game.
Glory kills do not drop ammo anymore (unlike the first game).
Play some more, you'll figure it out.
Get the "faster glory kill" rune and use your flamer to obtain shield and the ability to drop health with your blood punch --> less glory kills required and faster.

Glory kills may not drop ammo but they do drop health, which you NEED. And no, glory kills were not needed that much in the original. You could get by largely without them. Not this time.

Enemies will still drop a little bit of health when non-glory killed if you're low on health, but yeah, glory killing is the way to go. That, and stay on the move - constantly.

I miss the rune that made staggered demons damage-resistant though. Sometimes when I'm in a tight situation its hard not to gib the demons I want to glory kill. I wish they hadn't gotten rid of that rune.

no, world record on ultra nightmare in 2016 was with almost no glory kills

doom eternal sucks cause you have to use the chainsaw and glory kills for health and ammo which is very very sad and breaks the flow of the game being shooting demons.
