Only Display HDR1000 certified screens are true HDR, so I'd like to see if these people have the same issue.
If you really are an HDR enthusiast, you're best off just waiting for OLEDs.
Running w10 here . I'll run this as soon as I can , and report back here with results .
All good advise . Hdr shows pretty well on my oled tv . Sure you're not thinking of micro led ? I'm out of the loop a bit right now ....
That's not HDR though. WCG is its own feature, and you can get it on any 8bit FRC panel, or the true 10bit panels which are usually reserved for HDR1000 certified displays. (Which is why they tend to command huge prices)
Perhaps in Doom , but not in project cars and select others . There's an article out there , stating what a boondogle it can be ( setting up hdr )
My hdr monitor has the needed nits to work properly etc .
Problem with OLEDs for PC right now is the organic diodes of the blue sprectrum die much faster than green and red. Like 4000 hour pixel life, which translates still to sub 10,000 hours of life of practical use for the screen.
For a TV this isn't a big deal because TV's almost never freeze on a single static image, but PC monitors do. If you have an OLED screen and use it on a PC extra caution should be taken on games and desktop to limit "Blue Fatigue" A few steps include a Zero-Blue screensaver and change any Static UI elements in videogames to Green, red. Essentially zero out the blue saturation.
Thanks for this Hobo . I do not have anything on screen ( on the oled ) except for the windows trash icon , which I can't seen to rid of .
Cheers ,
