Game stuck in black screen when loading main menu!
At first the game was stuck in black screen during the intro, after updating the graphics driver, the intro went by smoothly however the main menu just won't load. There's only the exit message on the lower left corner and it wouldn't even respond when i pressed the corresponding button to exit. Does anyone have the same problem?

according to the faq that could indicate your pc cant run it.

I am pretty sure my pc specs are capable of running it just fine, I can play the 2016 DOOM without a hassle so I'm sure this wouldn't be any different. Here are my pc specs:

CPU: Intel i7-8700K @ 4.7GHz
GPU: SLI NVIDIA GeForce 1080 ti
RAM: 32 GB
Storage: Up to 2TB free

Hi MDzkM, please check to make sure your PC meets the minimum specs:

If they do, make sure you've updated to the latest video card drivers:

AMD:
  • Win7-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-20.3.1-Beta-Mar6
  • Win10-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-20.3.1-Beta-Mar6
  • Win 8 - Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.10.1

NVIDIA:
  • 442.74 Win7 Win8 64bit Game Ready Test Driver
  • 442.74 Win10 64bit Game Ready Test Driver
  • 442.74 Win10-DCH 64bit Game Ready Test Driver

If you're still experiencing issues, please send in a support ticket at https://help.bethesda.net

Yes, my pc actually meets the recommended specs and have updated my NVIDIA graphics driver to the latest (442.74 Game Ready Driver), and from other discussions I've viewed they experience a similar issue but their games crash while mine doesn't, I am very confused by this issue. Thank you the developers for taking time to respond to my thread.

test driver ? 442.74 is available for download now from Nvidia (none test)

Yes, I've used the NVIDIA GeForce Experience to update my drivers and have confirmed that it is in fact the latest driver non-test (442.74).

I take it that you have tried to disable one of your GPU's? SLI isn't officially supported.

Yes, I had disabled it and something weird happened. The intro turned black again and will only continue if I pressed alt+Enter to switch into windowed mode, yet the issue still persists.

Hello guys, it seems the issue has been resolved. Previously I switched off SLI without restarting first. After restarting and launching the game with only a single GPU the game launches smoothly. Thank you everyone for your support!

how about overclocking ? disable it for now if yes
turn off HDR in windows if enabled ?

Glad you got it sorted .

Oh right, Doom 2016 did something similar to this. It was related to scaling settings, and the games internal scaler breaking. The game tries to scale to massive resolutions, so you're left with a tiny part of the interface that doesn't work.

nvidia control panel -> Adjust desktop size and position -> Perform scaling on: 'GPU' and tick "Override the scaling mode..." Apply and done.

Should be it! :)

Another side note, the game will still appear black screen if I run it in exclusive fullscreen. So now I'm using the borderless fullscreen setting.

The scaling option I mentioned should help the exclusive fullscreen issue.

Thanks for the suggestion! But I can't seem to change the perform scaling on option. It's just grayed out on my control panel. Maybe because I'm not using a global DSR?
