Steam NextFest Wrap-Up + Demo Future

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to pop a message to say thank you all so much for taking Rogue Eclipse for a spin, we really appreciate it!

So you would've noticed that we've kept the demo up even though NextFest is complete - main reason for that is we honestly really value the feedback everyone has given and it allows us to look into elements that we can implement for the full-game!

The main takeaways are:

Demo is going to stay up (for the time being until we say otherwise!) and if there are any further updates to it we'll be sure to share 🙂
We're going dark for a little while as we focus on the full release of Rogue Eclipse!

We look forward to sharing more as we progress and once again, thank you all so much for joining us on this journey and please enjoy the summer!

Steam Summer NextFest + Demo Update [Patch 3]

Greetings players!

Hope everyone had a great weekend + past week and apologies for delay on getting this patch through!

Pleased to say a new build is live as a part of NextFest!

Patch 3 Notes \[Version 0.093A.014.002-VS-EN]:

Enemies:

Adjusted the Assimilator (appears on the final level) weaponry to be more... generous to the player!
Patched enemy encounters so they shouldn't repeat
Increased the pool of enemies that can be spawned earlier in a run

Levels:

Added additional level types (more likely to appear later in a run)
Consecutive repeats of environments should happen LESS

Audio:

Tweaked the audio processing on the player cannons
Reduced the distortion on the radio playback

Menus:

Demo Video doesn't play as often as it used to and provide a longer timeout in the main menu!

Bugs Fixes:

Fixed an issue in the tutorial where an overcharge prompt would cover the main objective

Please continue to provide feedback[forms.gle], it's super invaluable in helping us shape this game better for ya'll and thank you so much for wishlisting Rogue Eclipse! We really appreciate it! 🙂

Demo Update [Patch 2] + Steam Deck Support

Hey there everyone!

Thank you all so much for your patience and feedback, it’s really appreciated as we iron out some of the issues to get the demo into shape!

Steam Deck Guide:

Apologies for the inconvenience on this front, in order to play Rogue Eclipse on Steam Deck please follow these instructions:

Go to Settings/Select the cog
Properties
Compatibility
Enable ‘Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool’
Select ‘Proton Experimental’ from the drop down menu
Then when you go to play either choose ‘Deck Optimized Mode’ or ‘Ultra Performance Mode’

Once this is done you should be all set to play it!

Patch 2 Notes [Version 0.093A.013.027-VS-EN]:

Enemies:
Tuned the maneuvering capabilities of the Enforcer (this enemy generally appears between levels 6-7, occasionally can appear on Levels 4-5!)

Audio:
Changed default volume from 30 to 50 on first time load
Apologies for this, was an overcorrection mostly because I’m used to audio in games killing my ears on startup 😅

Menus:
Added a direct link to the feedback form

Now the journey has just begun and I’m well aware not all feedback has been completely addressed here - rest assured I’m aiming to have at least one more patch in before the start of NextFest and trying to see how much can be resolved in the demo versus being resolved in the full release.

Noice! Feedback

Loving this, you got a lot right with the basic flight combat. On my must buy list now. Some nitpicks: 1) Feedback regards locking on of missiles and missiles reloading cycle could be stronger 2) When customising the ship in the menu it doesn't feel clear when you have selected a ship part and it has been equipped 3) It keeps mentioning shortcuts unlocked but I haven't seen any so far 4) When you hit a big ship and die, and the camera does something, whatever it is doing doesn't feel so great 5) It woul...

Graphics are nice and varied, the fighter looks good, curious what it means by rogue-like in this case? Hoping it's a rogue-lite with minor progression. Also, PC only for this one?
