What's the 2024 Cultivator and Harvester Setup like?
That seems to keep changing. I heard one setup is

HCH
--H--

Basically, plant cultivator right in the middle and harvester 3,6,9 oclock position

Also heard someone say Cultivator in middle, skip one space out so that cultivator have dirt around to plant and harvester in the 12, 4 and 8 oclock position.

And they're saying 3 harvester to 1 cultivator?

That's like 2-3 year ago setup, does that still work?

IIRC cultivators and harvesters got nerfed both in yield and amount of plants meaning you can use 1 harvester per 1 cultivator eg. HC formation but you need more of them to get similar results.

But honestly not totally sure, last time I played (WE2 release) I think thats what I did. I am sure 3 harvesters - 1 cultivator is no longer a thing though, that sounds like release stuff.

I still use 3 harvesters per cultivator, any less and they can't keep with the planting.
I have them right next to each other with no gaps

I was recommended the Cobalt mining station or one of the tropical zones. What's the best recommended method to power up all these harvesting stations? Would it be your typical solar panels, wind turbines and batteries as backup or ?

The best (imo) ways to make cultivator farms is actually on the first acidic/metal terror biome, but for the Cobalt mining/tropical one geotermal vents combined with wind/solar and batteries should do the trick just fine.
Cobalt mining outpost is good for cultivation, however, I recommend some coolant requiring powerplants (either fusion or fission, whatever floats your boat) because, they require a LOT of energy, renewables ain't gonna cut it. I personally use 4x fusion for plasma generation, and the rest is a modded fission power plant (kaisers fission power plants) on every base. I still use 5 harvesters for each cultivator though, to keep it clean, but mostly I deconstruct it once I hit 20-30k of the requisite resource anyway.

BTW, don't mind the uranium consumption. You can easily get 500 000 uranium ore from the desert map, which translates into 2 000 000 enriched uranium, which is almost 6 real life days worth of fission power plant running, not to mention you can get refuels with comets and earthquakes.
