And if you don`t know what that means, then the only thing i can suggest is this:
1. Delete whole The Riftbreaker folder (or move it somewhere else temporary for testing)
2. Uninstall the game.
3. Exit Steam and start it as admin.
4. Install the game, navigate to its folder
5. Run game executable manually as admin.
Edit:
The game doesn`t have control over your OS or other software.
I have Kaspersky and have never had any issues.
I have read all the discussions in the forum, and other online solutions are useless.
I can only consider refunding...
Ugh....
Win 10 + AMD 3800XT + 32G RAM + 3080Ti + Kaspersky + 1T SSD
Multiple AVs on one device will be an issue..
I have tried it all,
Still invalid....
( Run as Admin, antivirus disabled, reinstall, latest patches, experimental patches, install as admin., checked disk., can write to folder..... )
The last option is "Refund"...
It's a good game ...... Q.Q
Solution:
* Use Windows 10 mklink or hard Symbolic Link
https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/
Process:
1. Google windows mklink, pick instructions
2. Create a new "The Riftbreaker" folder in another directory like "D:\The Riftbreaker"
3. Find/Search for "CMD" in your windows search.
4. Right click on "Command Prompt", right click and select "Run as Administrator"
5. Go to Documents folder and delete the old "Documents\The Riftbreaker" directory.
6. Run the command inside the Documents folder, "mklink /J C:\Users\<your username here>\Documents\The Riftbreaker" "D:\The Riftbreaker"
If your familiar with Command prompt and Windows directory structure you will understand the instructions. This is not a copy paste solution.
gdam thank you, this fixed it for me. so stupid that some backup system are locking and need to do this...
