Optimal plants to cultivate for resources
I've not had time to test many, but I wondered if anybody else had noticed different rates of income for the various resources from cultivation/harvesting.

Would be helpful if we could work out the optimal crop to grow for each resource type. I'll try do some testing later but if anybody already has any answers I'm sure we'd all appreciate hearing them XD.

In my experience, Fungus Regula has been my go to. You need a ton of the two basic resources, and you also get plant matter so you can just plop down plant matter power plants wherever with little worry. I've basically replaced all of my Iron and Carbon mines with Fungus farms.

for which resource? each plant has 3 possible combos. i might try put together a resource with which plants give the highest rates of income generation if anybody is interested. but wouldn't be till later today.

If your power situation is good, such as having lots of toxic sludge to work with, then go with the crystals, that way you get carbon, iron, and you can get the higher tier materials in large amounts.

In general, you want to use plant life or crystals with fewer possible results as that will increase the yield. What will also increase the yield is to keep scanning the plants. The higher your familiarity the bigger the bonus.

judging on quick tests the crystals are giving lower returns for the quest metals (at least for uranium) im going to update my guide with the figures and work on it periodically throughout the day when i have time

These are my results for uranium:
Vitreus Pura Viridis - 1.5-1.7/sec
Vitreus Implexus Viridis - 1.5-1.7/sec
Bulbus Pirum Viridis - 1.8-2.0/sec

Keep in mind your harvesting bonus from familiarity in your number crunching. For the mushrooms they tend to have a lot more samples you can easily get compared to the crystals.

However, once you start planting the crystals you can simply smash them yourself and get tons of samples to catch up in familiarity level.

You can take over the recon maps if they have geysers for infinite attack free resources. 2 lvl 3 cultivators with 4 harvesters for each lvl 3 geo. It doesnt matter if it is .3 difference. Every 4 geo will get you production in every resource.

true the values per second are small. but think how long we're all playing this game for. and if the 0.3 difference scales up to 3-4 harvesters per cultivator. thats an extra 1+/sec. and if you make multiple sites it could add up to an extra +4/sec generation on a map purely based on plant selection.
