Protip: You can change what a cultivator plants

The same way you slot mods into turrets, you can change the type of plant a cultivator grows. With build mode enabled, click on the cultivator and then the center icon on the popup menu.

This seems to be based on what you've scanned and how much familiarity you're unlocked, but the variety of plants have a lot of different resources. This pretty much allows for infinite sources of every resource.

Omg, thank you for posting this! I came on the forums to find out why there doesn't seem to be a way to farm crystals and happened to stumble on your post. Time to go set up some farms

It actually took me about 10 ish hours before I noticed this. Once I did I went back to forest planets to put up massive farms. After that my resource needs where eliminated.

Took me a while to try that too. After I found out how I had all the materials ready I need to go for the outposts, so as soon I had the research, the harevster collected it for me, less to do on the outpost mission.

To bad that wont work on survival.

Curious what plant generates Palladium? It's the only resource I can't farm yet.

If you haven't researched Palladium handling, none of em will give the resource. Lots of the plants in the acid biomes give it, iirc.

Hmm ok, I really didn't start scanning until later in the game so I must have skipped acid biome. Time for a field trip!
