weird how in easy difficulty you get that much of a horde
If you're playing the demo, you're supposed to lose the final battle - that's the end of the demo.

Its not demo. Its campaign. Its second (or 3rd) planet. Here is new resource located.
maybe you should prepare more ? i dont know what to say i am in same level as you and play in normal and so far my wall hasnt been breached by the native so far.

hell they even dont get too close to the wall as far as i know lol
I havent had that issue. Double-up wall thickness and focus on base defense.
That has to be a troll post or a bug
You're on day 18, have no equipment, and one base
You need to expand more aggressively; build small outposts for resources literally everywhere you can, even if they're destroyed, they're working for you while they're up, and they're attracting parts of the enemy waves away from your main facility, giving you more time to deal with them
Put down teleporters everywhere you have a power supply, and build a geothermal generator on EVERY VENT. Even if you only put a radar, a teleporter, and some walls up around it, it's helping you with mobility and information
Research the different types of turrets and mix them up, enemies have resistances to various damage types
Get explosives as soon as you can and drop grenades on your enemies, those big guys are prime targets for them
To be fair, was still on the primary map without leaving the are yet (was at part where you had to leave to a region for the first time), and already had about 3/4 of the tech tree researched except the lab stuff.
Only turrets I used really was the basic one...but I used a lot of them, and also interesting spot I had that made almost anything on the left side go into what was basically a cramped killzone :3 (the spot had a hefty cliff going north and south so as long as I didn't expand anything past those edges, the enemies aimed for that 1 gap in the middle)
Downside of me taking my time of the main area is that you need to explore the other zones to get the higher tier material for the better upgrades and better gear. Granted this was on normal though, and was on day 14, will admit the waves were getting decently massive. Fun fact, any ammo storage you put down just so happens to affect your mech's ammo cap also, which does not change when you go to a new zone :3.
Mines are pretty good for dealing with those chunky boys, and remember Mr riggs is your most powerful weapon, Upgrade his weaponry asap and when you get the alert a hoard is inbound head out and thin them out before they reach your base.
It's not an easy game, but it is a good one.
I feel you to some degree. Playing on Normal.

I'm almost complete with the tech tree and just completed my first mission for a rare resource, upgrading the rift gate. As soon as that happened I let the zerg wipe my HQ sector :( I'm not sure what the strategy is supposed to be here to survive the random attacks that will happen after the first rare resource / gate upgrade mission. My weapons, which are half purple quality are not strong enough to take down the giant rock golems effectively.... and they keep coming. I cannot build advanced structures or towers because I'm out of cobolt. (not sure what that's about) I think the enemy difficulty ramped far too abruptly. I had enjoyed a slow gradual game of building a sector-spanning economy, but that enemy difficulty needs tweaked so I can enjoy my own playstyle and not what appears to be the playstyle of the test team and beta players.... whatever that is.

I'm putting the game down until some changes are made, you'd think early access or beta would have sorted this prior to release for 10% off.
The game difficulty spikes massively when you get the new resources (people say Titanium is a big culprit)..

if you avoid doing any planet warping other than the 3 'recon' maps (and the cobalt mine), build an outpost on each, scan a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of plants.. you can then use cultivators and harvesters to get the resources without triggering the difficulty spike until you are ready.
To be fair, it is likely you were using weapons said rock monsters were resistant too. Was it the metalic one or the literal golem like monster? Because so far I think explosives (and hammer?) are it's damage weakness. But yeah, a wave of a large amount of those fella's sound sorta terrifying when all I use is the 1st turret xD

Hammer IS explosive dmg type (FYI)
Haven't used the hammer but did suspect it shared the same damage type since it had the same damage icon as the rockets. Haven't really tried many of the weapons so far, have been sword, blaster, rockets so far.
Thx for answers. Now I am on another planet. Mission: research anomaly. But no any marker on map. What need to do?
