How do you "activate the rift station power-up sequence"?

I can't seem to figure what it wants me to do. This is the only objective left for me.

Click on it in build mode. It's the button in the middle.

Select the building and its the button in the very middle.

No way to sell and rebuild!! You must let monsters destroy it... no way my base in unbreacheable... HELP!!
