Anyone else having issues powering their bases?
As title. For some reason I am always behind in power, even when burning ores for power.
With increased size, you need more guns, you need more repair, you need more everything and energy is the number 1 weak spot for me. What are your recipes?

I had massive wind and solar farms at first with lots of energy storage to power through down times.

Once I had geothermal and gas unlocked, my power problems seem to have vanished.

Nuclear power and beyound pretty much answer for this. In early game I get big power chunks from geothermal plants and GAS plants. Dont bother holding biomass plants tho, it completly usless before the moment you can grow and harvest biomass by drones.

Very early game it seems you just gotta make big wind and solar farms... with a little extra help from a single plant bio and animal flesh bio generators but the bio ones won't have 100% uptime.

Watch out for the communications building early game, that sucker sucks 500 energy.

solar is pretty good, once you have good energy storage you can stray away from wind which gives very little.

I think my issues are due to a glitch, i cant seem to keep stuff powered up even with positive power they just suddenly disconnect from the grid.

Progress the main story until you get to uranium. Then you unlock farming, and farming can directly collect refined uranium from crystals (mud>water>cultivator>harvester>nuclear-powerplant). You'll go from power starved to swimming in power in like 5 minutes.

1 cultivator and 4 harvesters (all level 2) can supply enough uranium for a level 1 nuclear power plant. That's 1500 power, or the same output as ~100 wind turbines (or 50 level 2 turbines).

That's odd. Try placing some extra connectors down just to see if it unbugs the power relays perhaps?
I tried deleting them and adding them, i restarted the save and tried adding new ones near the old ones. they are just butting out. I started a separate thread about this and i am not the only one experiencing whole swathes of base that just power down for no reason when they were connected fine before.
I think its a bug and hopefully its worked on because at this juncture it make the game unplayable after a while. Your main base just shuts down and you cant get passed attacks with just your mech alone. i guess i could put down mountains of walls for them to chew on while i hack and shoot, but that's not what is meant for this game.

at the begening i had problems, ive solved thsi with huge amount of energy in stock and many solars / wind

Grab geo and gas power as soon as you can as they are infinitely more reliable than solar/wind and don't eat limited resources.

Best solution is having access to sludge pools to make gas for gas power plants and geothermal plants for clean energy and some mud, which can be processed to water.
Also nuclear power, but you need uranium unlocked as well as finding uranium deposits.

Here are some images BTW, Just for funsies i tried adding some power too, but i think the game is just not pulling from my battery of power generation at full when the power dipped suddenly. You can see old cables still on the ground, and new junctions not connecting.

So when I put down geothermal, is that all, I don't need to run a pipe? Didn't seem like I got a lot more energy change and there's that pipe icon flashing at me, just not sure if the thing is working properly.

You don't NEED a pipe, no. It's just a nice perk of geothermals, they provide you with mud that you can then use to refine into water to power other buildings. In some places I use a geothermal to kickstart me and then plug it into a water plant to generate water for a nuclear reactor.
