What? You mean the energy storage? They don't transmit power, so how is this even remotely gonna help? You'd still need to connect them via the energy connectors to places where you need power to make use of it...?
I very, very strongly dislike the energy connecting mechanic of the game. It just feels clunky and adds an unnecessary and quite frankly just straight up annoying level of micro management.
I'm fine with them in games such as Factorio, Satisfactory and Dyson Sphere Program, but in this game it just feels horrendously out of place and as if it was slapped in there just because other similar games have them.
Geothermals outside your main base are primarily interesting to power small mining or teleport outposts.
That is actually a great idea. I currently have power lines between my bases and have been lucky so far as they have not been destroyed. I think ill change to doing it this way however
Are they being destroyed by enemies from the attack waves, or just the roaming enemies already on the map at the start that you just haven't cleared yet?
If it's from attack waves, one thing you could do is take advantage of how the AI works by just making sure there's a structure between the general area of your connectors and the edge of the map in the direction they spawn. You'd have to construct much less using that approach vs. actually trying to put towers or walls around all your connectors.
From roaming enemies and waves both. Im not always there to see it, but every time i leave a base for more than 3 minutes - one of the power lines is already ♥♥♥♥♥♥
I experimented with it very briefly, not sure what the limit is but if you set it too high the game will crash. Setting it to 30 or so seems to work just fine, though.
Go to Riftbreaker's folder, open up 00_win_data.zip and copy this file;
And paste it here;
Do note that the data folder is used for overriding stuff, so it won't exist by default. You'll have to create the folder structure yourself.
I was experimenting with being able to get energy connectors to connect via rift portals, so you can use them to ferry energy between bases - but haven't been able to get it to work yet :(
Sorry, not too good with computers so I'm not sure how to take pictures or how to post them, but in general, a level 1 geothermal plant can support one water purifier, a level 3 water purifier can support one cultivator (a lower level water purifier will still sort of support it, but the cultivator will have lower output) and a fully water-fed cultivator can usually support two harvesters, depending on how much free space is around. At level 1 facilities, this will be extremely low output, but once you reach water purifier level 3, and cultivator and harvester level 2, each setup can produce about 4 plant-matter per second. I'm kind of excited for what level 3 buildings will do, and the potential of doubling the setup once I get the materials to upgrade the geothermal plant for more mud. Oh right, it's best to place the harvesters right next to the cultivators, so the drones don't need to fly too far, and to leave some empty space immediately around both so there's room for the plants to grow.
Have you tried switching seeds from plant matter to uranium? I feel that after switching seeds for uranium, there's no amount of harvesters that's able to get all the crystals from the ground.
However I am slowly gathering up all my bases into one mega-base. Walls and cannons my guy. Walls and cannons
