Hitting bioscanner crashes each time
Just got to hazenite world and I get the conversation saying to use the bioscanner with middle mouse. Everytime I hit it I crash. No mods are on at this time and I have 30+ hours playing fine. I xan do everything but bioscan. Turret sxanners work fine too. Anyone have a clue?

It might be caused if you had mods on that save before and then turned them off. I once had an outdated mod make the scanner unusable. You could test this by starting a new save. I would also try verifying the game files.

If it’s a save that had mods enabled then those games are broken until those mods update. Disabling mods does not fix old saves since they still have trace mod data in them. Really recommend a new save for the update. I haven’t had any issues on a new save nor a second save with updated 964 version mods

super buggy dlc. Give them time to fix it, and do not exceed 2 hour playtime if you want to refund.

Definitely some left-over mod issue. I have something similar myself, and I even started a new game (with less mods).

The Bioscanner solution for me was to reassign the button to another one on the mouse (personally, I much prefer Mouse 4 / thumb button over Mouse 3 / scroll wheel).

But my Bioscanner turrets do not work. The pop up, and start scanning...and disappears again, without successfully scanning anything. And this issue persists even after a full reinstall of the game. Unless the first, Standard Bioscanner turret is only meant to highlight scannable objects, and not actually scan them.

I am not in the mood to start over AGAIN, so I am trying other scanner mods to brute-force my way around the issue.

Considering the increased promotion of mods in this game now, I would expect the game to TELL ME if a mod is outdated, and not just crash.

The Cobalt handling research is still flashing, even after being completed (haven't seen that bug in a long time now).

What else...the music pops in and out, to the point where I just had to system mute the whole game. Selective audio announcements does not work - I don't want to hear "not enough minerals" when I have specifically turned OFF that notification.

And whenever the mech dies it said "INVALID DIED!" on the bottom right of the screen. And I personally really do not like the auto-switching of weapons when out of ammo. I much prefer the previous "click-click-click, hey, dummy! You need to wait before firing again!"

The game also takes much longer to start now.
