-they have to redesign their in house game engine because it was not made for multiplayer.
-they've had beta testing for it with players.
-they're not going to release something half done.
the last news post (that i saw) on Co-op:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/780310/view/4168714761879990385?l=english
We also have this unedited 4-player complete co-op run up on our YouTube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USDQ4A90Bko
Later edit: I wonder how different of an experience it would be if everyone started out at a different location rather than in the same one?
None of us were on the verge of an angry outburst haha
The explanation is very simple - most of us were uncomfortable. We're just a bunch of nerds making games. We're not big-time streamers and we're not used to being watched by people online. We also don't speak our native language in this video, which puts an additional strain on our few braincells, because we are trying to make sense and not say anything stupid. Then, there is also the factor of putting the results of years of our work to public scrutiny. What if we crash? What if stuff goes wrong? What if the game slows down to a crawl?
All of these things add up and make us more uptight than we really are.
I promise it was fun :D
No, The Riftbreaker is only going to feature online co-op.
In the end the X-Morphs are those who really are behind the scenes, sending Mr Riggs to find planets full of ressources for the alien to get the exploration reports and find which planets to drain off it's ressources just like they did with the Earth in the previous X-Morph Defense game.
