well, there is a pinned post with "Co-Op mode for The Riftbreaker is expected to release no sooner than Q4 2022." message, now we have end of 2023 and nothing... so maybe at the end of 2024 we will be more lucky.

I read the news posts. They are working hard on it right now. They have a working version of it already. But working doesn’t mean it does not have bugs or glitches.

Be patient. I bet COOP will release in 2024 and it will be free. The game was released super cheap, so this is just a gift to its community for free. They will release it once they feel satisfied with its quality. And I think it shouldn’t release any sooner than that.

They announced it back in 2022, and now it's 2024, man, I'm utterly disappointed.

The issue is that the game is fully released. This means they can not release a buggy multiplayer without getting huge criticism. If it were still early release then they could get away with it, but the original plan did not include multiplayer.
Add to this that it requires changing the game engine, which is difficult as it requires altering some fundamental aspects of the game.

It is like rebuilding the foundation of a building while people are still living in the house... you want everything perfect before making it happen.
