Console command to regenerate map?
The subject says it all - does anyone know of a console command that will regenerate the current map? Note that I'm not talking about *restarting* the map - I want to regenerate it from scratch.

The reason I want this is because there are some maps where the procedural generation creates a layout that just isn't fun to play, and with where I'm at in the game, I'd like to be able to regenerate just that one map rather than restarting the whole game.

You'll have to go into: C:\Users\Your username\Documents\The Riftbreaker\CampaignV2\ and delete a folder manually.
Easy way to know what to delete is to riftjump to the location you want to recreate/regenerate, and then riftjump a second time to another location, alt-tab out and find the last folder modified/edited and delete it.
It will have a longwinded name with lots of numbers and most importantly a ".map" at the end of it.
Check timestamps on the folders to be sure, i usually just note the time i jump FROM the location i want recreated, not when jumping to it.

You will know it worked if a pop up message appears telling you that the map save state is corrupted and has to be restarted when jumping back to it. No need to quit or restart game.
This will however treat it as if it is the first time you are there, resetting local objectives, i haven't seen it affect global objectives though, but don't quote me on that :)
Hope this helps.
That is a wonderfully helpful reply - thank you!

You could also use the restart_map console command which does the same as what Dataviking's suggestion does

I was under the impression that "restart_map" just reset the current map to its initial state, but didn't actually change it. What I'm after is something that actually regenerates the map.

restart_map does regenerate the map with a new seed and reset the local objectives and dialogue

Thanks for that - I didn't realize it did that.

Well, that's a lot easier :) I was using a method from an old article which used the suggestion i presented. Thanks dj8472 for the tip! Didn't mean to waste anyones time, have a good one!
