Easy way to know what to delete is to riftjump to the location you want to recreate/regenerate, and then riftjump a second time to another location, alt-tab out and find the last folder modified/edited and delete it.
It will have a longwinded name with lots of numbers and most importantly a ".map" at the end of it.
Check timestamps on the folders to be sure, i usually just note the time i jump FROM the location i want recreated, not when jumping to it.
You will know it worked if a pop up message appears telling you that the map save state is corrupted and has to be restarted when jumping back to it. No need to quit or restart game.
This will however treat it as if it is the first time you are there, resetting local objectives, i haven't seen it affect global objectives though, but don't quote me on that :)
Hope this helps.
