What's the problem with energy connectors?
I often notice that sections of buildings stop working even if they are connected to power sources. Particularly, water/gas filtering plants will sometimes stop supplying water/gas to nuclear/gas power plants, even if they are connected by energy connectors. The only way I seem to be able to fix this is by selling all nearby energy connectors and rebuilding the connections. Does the game get confused if two building are connected by more than one energy connector? Other times, energy connectors simply fail to connect with adjacent buildings. The system for energy connections in this game seems like a mess that needs to be reworked.

filtering plants will not provide the necessary resource to power buildings if they do not have power. thus the power buildings will not work. if you could provide some sort of screenshot so we could see what is going on with your connectors, then we could better help you. just about every bug here that people post in these discussions, i've never encountered. so i don't know if maybe doing the "verify your files" option would make a difference.

try looking through the forums for more posts cause i've seen some answers regarding a console code that would basically rebuild all of your buildings to fix any bugs like this

"Added debug_recreate_buildings command. Use it if you encountered a bug that disconnected all your buildings from the energy grid."

might solve your problem

Here's an example - These energy connectors should be connecting the geothermal plant to the rest of my base on down the line. However, none of my buildings are getting power because the water filtering plant sucks up the connection on the right side and breaks it, while the fluids tank breaks it on the left side.

i don't see any "no power" symbols. so everything appears to be working fine. and every building acts as a connection. so you're placing redundant connectors

The following is a summary of my observations:it seems that the building can only be connected to a certain energy network once, and will not connect to any energy connectors that belongs to it after that :lunar2019laughingpig:

I'm wondering about this myself. I'm going through the Prologue and it tells me to build a Carbonium Power Plant. I have 3 going connecting to the grid and they are active, but it doesn't get rid of the mission. Not sure what to do.

I've noted a bug multiple times while playing, where buildings will claim to be producing resources (power, water, gas, etc.) and connected pipes in the case of liquid resources reflecting this, but not actually be doing so. I've found power-cycling the building from its menu fixes this.

TLDR: if your building isn't producing resources and should be, click it in build mode, and turn its power off and on again. This usually fixes the problem.

EXTRA: This is often the root cause of why shield generators stop using plasma; the issue isn't with the generator, it's with the fusion reactor the plasma's coming from.
