Investigate the anomaly?

I'm at the Stegaros Nest, and at one point I had discovered some ind of crystal thing. Which if I recall I had to shoot or something. Well, this map still shows the mission "Investigate the anomaly". Map has nothing to investigate, unless I have to actually discover every piece of it?

Unimportant side quest that gives you one of the movement skills (that you can have anyway)

Iirc, isn't thats the one where a special crystal is inside a small area surounded by mountains with just one small entrance. You then need to drill a sample from it (be carefull to not shoot it.. destroying will trigger a massive attack and fail the quest)
