Can't build on campaign lava map to place radars.

The entire map has burning ground and I can't build anything anywhere. I checked a Youtube video and I see that there's supposed to be a plant thing with a cold zone around it.

I have none of those on my map. How do I reset the map to hopefully spawn a new version that is not bugged?

I can't just load a save because I thought maybe it was a mission requirement thing and did the uranium and paladium missions and setup those outposts, after first visiting this map.

I think there 1 building in the Research that you can set down that " cool down " in a small area in Magma Biome, I never use it myself so idk if that work?

Takes Titanium to build and you have to complete this mission before you get any Titanium.

Yes you are suppose to have cool plants to be able to drop radars. If they aren't showing up, you'll need to use a console command to restart the map... (just that campaign recon lava map, not your whole game) I know they are pinned in the discord.. but hopefully someone here remembers it and can post it for you.

Then ah maybe go on an other planet first? Wish i could be of more help but i think going on an other planet might be the thing. Someone with more knowledge with campaign will be able to help as i did more Survival then campaign.

Build them near the cryo plants that make ice areas.

There were TONS of them when I did that quest.

Thanks, I was able to use the console to give me a bunch of Titanium so that I could just build the cryo device things.

You don't need the cooling towers to build there. Find the plants that you scanned for the cryo station research in the first place, and you can build around them. You can also destroy them to get a little titanium, but it's not needed. Easy enough to just listen to them explain this when the mission starts.

Didn't bother to read the opening post did you? There were ZERO plants like that on my map. That's the bug that was supposed to have been fixed in a patch a little while ago, but it can still happen.

Not 100% sure but I think the zone disappears if you leave it without putting down an outpost. Then it generates a new one with the orbital scanner. Don't mark my words on that but I feel I read it somewhere before.

I tried that. I obviously didn't put down an outpost because I couldn't build anything anywhere. I left, it did not give a warning, and when I went back, after doing a few other side map missions, the zone had not changed at all. It did not reset.

Maybe that just happens to zones without missions then.


Found a workaround on reddit you can try:

- research corrosive gun and craft it to take with you

- find a gravity rock field (not the very big ones but medium size)

- place flooring in the gravity field, while remaining outside the area

- destroy the rock, when done placing floor, with corrosive gun.

- you can now build on the flooring a radar and wind turbine to help complete the mission.

If you are out of gravity rocks, the nuke gun can "cool" the ground around where it hits. Also says that upgraded dash will leave an area you can build in the destroyed area.
