Is Survival Brutal even possible?
Upgrading the HQ to level 2 means insanely hard monsters come. Not just quantity, but quality. My lame level 1 weapons are no match. And they tear through 3 layers of walls like butter.

sounds like some balancing needs to be done and we can wonder how much this game has been play tested.

I mean I havent experienced brutal.

But Im playing on hard and everything is pretty easy so far. Im pretty much soloing waves. I honestly wish Id start with brutal difficulty at this point. One of the tricks I use is to build a lot of mini walls all around to slow down the enemies from reaching my actual walls. Idk, id have to see what brutal looks like!

Some people say they are able to survive on brutal. But their strategy probably relies partially on kiting, distraction walls and abusing the AI flaws.

Are you using mines? you could spam a silly amount of them before an attack.
Granted, I know zero about survival right now...

upgrade hq when 2nd wave is about to come ,it can cancel 2nd wave monster, you have 2more minutes to develop your base, build tower won't help you,the only way to win is build walls at the direction far from your base and use all your mines。 you need to build walls in 品 shape。:steammocking:

I'm on brutal and my HQ is level 3. I don't feel like I'm struggling that much. My walls are made of 3 layers of level 2 walls, and there are level 2 or 3 sentinel turrets, probably on average one every 4 tiles (but they are bunched by group of 3-4). Some mines dispenser, generous allocation of level 2 repair towers, and no particular problem. I have teleporting portals at regular interval to lend an hand if there is a special attack, but that's it.

Good economy is very important though, and you should know that the only map that get events is the one where you are, so once you have setup an outpost producing decent resources and everything is calm, you can teleport away and it will provide without being attacked. Then you return on the main map and with your strong economy you build defenses, improve, etc.

Considering they mention outposts... probably not.

It is very much possible. After a few tries without playing the game much before, I got a decent map and got to the final wave, which obliterated me, but still. You really should do your best to keep the enemies from getting to your walls in the earlier waves, double shotguns and swords can clear a massive amount of enemies while you kite them on the way to your defenses.

If you are talking about your campaign experiences here, you don't know what you are talking about. Survival and campaign are two completely different play modes and difficulties. Even if you are playing brutal on both. Brutal on campaign is quit easy. Brutal on survival is near impossible (only doable ways seem to be with abusing game AI, bombs, and pathing and such.) I am yet to see anyone complete it or know of a way to do it while playing the game in the way that it is intended.

KenseiTV beat all 4 survival maps on Brutal. He streamed it.

Also did it on brutal after 4-5 trys....u have to use every second, never run low on power and try to get as much ressources as possible

u need to have ur wall upgrades as soon as possible and also u have to do at least 50% of the waves by yourself

the hole game i only used the spear, no other weapon

Utter rubbish, i beat all 4 biomes on brutal survival, it was great fun and a serious challenge. There was no cheese kiting or spamming mines, just learning the flow of the game and figuring it out.
