Magma and Flammable Gas Power Plants Inconsistent

I put the power plants down and make sure that they are hooked up to their own upgraded pump but they stutter. They will not stay on consistently, what can I do?

That means you are not providing enough input. Screenshots might help.
Gas powerplants require 2 buildings on input.
Magma powerplant requires more than one T3 pump (1.5).

We have to spread our pumps out o much the logistics get really messy.

You can mouse over the pipes in build mode and see your input/output balance. If it's even, you might want to consider adding a fluid storage buffer, and let it fill up before turning the generator back on.

use tanks between each stage, and make sure you have more storage then you consume per server tick.

Had this problem to. Let your storage fill before you turn the power plant on. A Liquid storage as buffer helps with intake shortages. If for whatever reason your power goes out, even only for as few seconds, your pumps stop working and therefore your generators dont get enough gas and shut down, and that leads to more power shortages and so on. Fill a storage or two and this problem is history :)

Or throw a couple wind power plants to jumpstart things. Then just leave them.

You need 3 T3 pumps for 2 magma PP, so i guess you have not enough production. Or missing storage bubbles.
