I'm at the part in the campaign where you go to the Stregaros area, so as you can imagine my base isn't very big. I haven't explored all of the headquarters map and I've built small mining outposts on only half of the resource patches. I haven't built any radars.
I've tried setting the graphics and resolution to minimum but the problem persists so I think it's CPU-related.
I've noticed my CPU usage never goes above 50% even in big fights despite being set to use all 4 cores.
I really enjoyed the game but it's unplayable now. Have you any suggestions?
For some console gaming standard, thats stable at >20 and >25 FPS, so.
I am running a 1050ti, and a worse cpu, and even if i have not messd with my settings at all, i am running "fine".
Ofc i do not expect it to run at 120 at all times, heck i dunno exactly what frames i get, but i can say it runs pretty smooth even with screen coverd by buggs.
Fiddle with the settings, make sure what you value is priod, be it frames resolution or things like eye candy.
Can try to actually upp the stuff for the gpu, so it is running at more max, instead of the cpu, some games are weird like that, no idea how this game handles it tho.
If you have problems, it can ofc be a pain to figure out, but most times one can get a game running acceptable, if not well.
Could check resource monitor in windows to see how much "per core" use your getting, If the game is working correctly you should see fairly high usage across all cores.
Newer intel cpu's don't tend to overheat with stock settings, they just drop to the base clock under heavy load.
This will effect game performance and laptop gaming performance can vary greatly between different chassis types.
It might be helpful to note your cpu's clock speed when playing the game (or you could try running prime 95 burn test).
If the Cpu is throttling to keep the temps under control and then windows (or another program) starts doing something in the background this "may" be pushing the cpu over the edge, but there is also a chance there is some sort of rare bug or software conflict that is stopping the game fully utilising your cpu.
Either way the more information you can find the easier it will be for the devs to help you.
