Select armory?
Love the demo, but it was ridiculously difficult to select the armory. You have to go into some special mode to select it, I'm not even sure what I did to finally get it to be selectable. Why not just have it so if you click on it, you select it?

Because there is two modes, building and fighting. The special mode you have to go into, is the building mode, everything else is fighting mode. I'm sure the reason for this is stop you from clicking on it by accident when you're fighting off enemies in your base, you use your mouse for clicking. There is also hotkeys for the armory.

The game could do a better job of communicating this. I spent quite a while flailing about before looking in the controls mapping and figuring out how to bring up the screen there.

oddly i don't even know why anyone would bother to select armory/research that way... i played on controller and when you press start (maybe esc on kb?) there are crafting. research, etc pages all can be done there rather than going to the buildings themselves. think the mission is fulfilled when you craft a weapon rather than opening the menu at the building.

yeah, for actual armory settings you go through inventory.

Not sure how "building/fighting" mode could be communicated any better since Armory is not the first building and it had to be built first anyway. So fight/build mode is already mastered if it asks for ammo production tutorial.

Yeah, I wasn't able to figure this out until the very end of the tutorial. It needs to be better explained.

+1

I found it too complicated to craft and select the weapons and I didn't understand how to switch weapons in combat.

Hey, but that's kinda on your head. Won't mention the basic custom to go to controls setup to learn all the possible "keys" that do something. But the game literally shows that at the start and thanks to bug it cannot be even changed :)

So what better way you think would be appropriate if this is not enough? The control scheme is one of simplest that can be.

@Elenoe, have you played the demo? For every other action you need to do, the GUI button you need to press to perform the action is highlighted. The controls mapping at the start doesn't show how to select the armory either. Additionally, from the comments here, escape seems to be the best button to press and that controls mapping shows escape as only being pause. So again, not much help.

I can't run it now, but what's in "armory"? I remember it's the "manufatoring" and "crafting" menu. Which is communicated (or I missed something important that was not required to finish demo :P) And I go to those through the inventory (I mean one look at that screen and you see it has tabs like any other game.)

If anything my complain would be that I could not remap that screen to TAB as in all other games, but hey, one line in AHK so no hard feelings.

I mean you can pick 3 different things for the left hand and 3 different things for the right hand. I don't know which hand is switching when. I saw Q and E for switching weapons but does it switch both hands at the same time?

Q switches the left weapon, E the right weapon. If you hit escape you can go to controls and see all the controls. The game could do a little bit better, but honestly it's pretty simple.

Not sure what are "controls mapping at the start", but the picture in options does show crafting and manufacture hotkeys. You can also remap those.

Agree this isn't clear. I finished the game without ever selecting the armory. Came to the discussions to see how to do it. Still had fun anyway.
