Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse

How To Get Stubbs The Zombie To Work On Windows 10
This is a step-by-step guide on how to install the Stubbs The Zombie properly and get it to work. This guide will only work for NVIDIA graphics cards.
1. Download NVIDIA Inspector (You will need to unpackage it. I use B1 Free Archiver)
2. Open nvidiaProfileInspector
3. Scroll down to "5 - Common"
4. Click on the extention limit and change it to 0x00004844. There should be a drop down arrow that will give you this option.
5. Apply changes and exit NVIDIA Inspector
6. Install Stubbs The Zombie (open up file explored, click disk drive, click Stubbs The Zombie)
7. Make sure to just install it normally. Don't waste your time with the repair option
8. From the disk, don't click "Stubbs". Just click "Launch". There should be two files named Launch, but just click the file with the one with the green arrow in the icon.

That's it. I hope that helps everyone. It took me forever to find out how to do this and I just wanted to make a very clear step-by-step guide.

EDIT:
An alternate way to fix this problem for BOTH Nvidia and AMD can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/7800/discussions/0/613941122667722502/
I have not tested this personally, but it is very simple to do

Thanks, can confirm this worked.
How do you play it? I thought it was removed from steam

Buy the hardcopy from a website or store. It's hard to find in mint condition

Why would you need "mint condition"? Merely for the printed instruction manual? You can find the manual anywhere on the internet (including via extrenal link right here on Steam.)

Game is just the same if you purchase "used" off Amazon. Once you install, it's still the same great experience.
I have an i7 3770k, Asus GTX 970, and 16gb of ram. Can I play this game?

That is way more than required to play, so yes.
This does not work with the steam version, sorry but this is steam make the fixs relate to the software, yes its no longer there to buy but people still own it, also this fix does not seem to work it misses up, game loads but thats about it the UI is messed up.

The NVIDIA Inspector does not seem to really want to work well with GTX960m
With or without the fix I get always an error for OpenAL32.dll missing. And if I add that manually from the net or from some other folder in my computer to the game's folder, it crashes and instead gives another error.

Incredibly hard to get this old classic working.

Make sure you are pressing the "Launch" program with the green arrow. And as a quick note, I play the Italian disk copy. You might be playing something even more foreign than Italy which could be a problem.
Finally got it working, I did this Nvidia inspector setup and through a link in GOG forums got a proper OpenAL32.dll installer from Focus Home's website and then game started. Ahh so cool to see Stubbs again after such a long time.

Funny thing is that you just need to rename the exe file in the home directory.

wow thanks for letting me know! I'll put it in my original post
Ok, would really appreciate some help here. I've gotten the game working perfectly on my PC by changing the name to CoDSP (easy fix) but this is to do with the controller. I use an Xbox One controller for my PC and i googled how the button config was on the original Xbox version and then mapped the controller identical, but some of the buttons are so frustrating. Like when i use A B X or Y they work just fine... but when i need to throw a Gut Grenade (which i mapped to LT) i usually have to press it several times to get it to work and then that causes the occasional accidental throwing of 2 Gut Grenades, so i end up wasting one.

Back when i had an Xbox 360 i had the Xbox version on it as a backwards compatible game and never had any issues... but since i switched to PC gaming and downloaded this, whether i use an Xbox 360 controller or Xbox One controller i get the exact same annoying problem of buttons working "when they want to" Anyone else experience this and if so do you have any suggestions on how to fix it because apart from this small issue everything else works perfectly?
It works. Many thanks :)
