I disabled v-sync but game still runs 38-40 fps. Different proton versions don't do anything. Any help please?

I genuinely get the impression the game offers it as an option to players, but obviously it's not meant to be really played because the game quickly snowballs into Pseudo-RNG with it. You really are at the mercy of the AI. Specifically the Agents (I'm assuming maybe FBI? Not sure.) If the Agents cluster or sit in one area you can spam a nade to, you're aces. This happens when you farm, for example, those 3 convicts and at some point just quit the game. What happens during the farm is that the game counts those eaten brains, reports them to Steam (this is why Steam counter changes, although it may (and very often does) update in portions), but when you quit, the game never saves this number to your local save file.
