I've secured that area and can now expand south - south/east by claiming all that unclaimed land and fight with whomever wants a beating elsewhere.
One issue in my game is that EVERYONE hates my guts. I dont understand why tho.
Its gonna be difficult this game with everyone hating me and declaring on me at some point.
Because she isnt one of them, she is a bandit and will always be.
I remember i had a game where i wasnt hated by everyone ... i suppose thats not normal heh
Zheng Jiang can just hide there and capture territories all-around and convert them in to vassals, since they aren't going to be part of the bandit culture and she gains +100% tribute gain through passive.
Ignoring diplomatic game tends to cause this issue and executing enemy generals (especially if they are faction leaders or have plenty of friends). Early games diplomatic game is rough, but can be managed and as you approach mid-game your diplomatic capabilities hit their stride and can truly impact the game.
Being a bandit really doesn't have impact on diplomatic relations. If anything shes the strongest diplomatic player thanks to her tribute gains. A vassal swarm queen you might say.
Her infamy mechanic makes everyone hate her. As the infamy bar fills, she gets increasing penalties to diplomacy. There's a technology around the center of the bandit network that adds +10 to diplomatic relations with everyone that can partially offset the penalty.
