Dong Zhuo gets fat
Why is Dong Zhuo fatter in 190 than he is in 182? I don't think any of the other characters change like that in different times.

He was quite the warrior (and loyal servant of the Han) in his younger days.
After becoming the Prime Minister of the Han, his lifestyle changes drastically and he enjoys everything in great excess while his cities starve around him.

It's tradition in videogames (possibly broader culture, I don't know) to depict Dong Zhuo in his years as tyrant as a very large man. That being said, in his youth he was said to be a very strong man, expert in archery and horsemanship. By 182 those glory days are behind him, but they still wanted to show the different between Dong Zhuo the celebrated general, and Dong Zhuo after his rise to tyranny and years of plunder in the capital.

I believe that was part of the original narrative and reflects how greedy he was and went mad with power. Been listening to a cool pod cast on three Kingdoms, and it talks a lot about how the power went to his head and he became very glutenous, got Lu Bu doing a lot of his work, slept with concubines, including the women promised to Lu Bu, squandered a huge amount of money building palatial estates etc....

He became a glutton like Barron Harkonen in the Dune series and seamed to engage any all lifes pleasures which ultimately lead to his downfall at hands of Lu Bu who was annoyed he stole the women promised to him.

If Dong Zhou does not become prime minister (say a player is controlling him and doesnt follow the story) Does his apperance still change? If hes still roaming the west lands hes not going to be living the good life in the capital right?

Yeah he still changes, I eliminated the faction he ends up confederating in year 187 that has lu bu in it and also captured luoyang before year 190. Still gets fat

Getting fat is just a consequence of hitting middle age.
